Filters ::: filter_filtercodes

The FilterCodes filter enables Moodle content creators to easily customize and personalize site and course content using over 140 plain text tags. Version 2.2 introduces 12 new FilterCodes including tags to list teacher, course request link, a conditional tag based on custom profile fields, tags to display support information, a menu of tools for developer and more. You can now even create your own global tags.

  • {profile_field_...} of type Date/Time now displays date/time instead of a number.
  • {profile_field_...} of type Checkbox now displays Yes/No instead of a 1 or 0.
  • {profile_field_...} of other types will now display value if field contains 0.
  • {profile_field_...} tags will now be removed if user is not logged in.
  • {filtercodes} tag now works on all pages but only for users who have course:update capability.
  • Sample code updated to prevent custom menu tags from being processed through the "URL to Link" (urltolink) filter. See README.md to update your theme.

Some tags, indicated in the documentation as ALPHA, may still require some additional development and are not guarantied to be implemented in the same way or even at all in future releases. Please let us know if you think they are useful if they work for you or what changes you might like to see.

UI tags are compatible with most Boostrap 4 based themes for Moodle. They have been tested with:

Academi, Adaptable, Aigne, Bandeau, Boost, Classic, Eguru, Enlight Lite, Fordson, Foundation, GCWeb, Klass, Moove, Roshni Lite and Trema.

Default installation instructions for plugins of the type Filters

  1. Make sure you have all the required versions.
  2. Download and unpack the filter plugin.
  3. Place the folder (eg "myfilter") in the "filter" subdirectory.
  4. Visit http://yoursite.com/admin to finish the installation
