This block allows instructors to perform actions upon multiple resources or activities, rather than having to perform repeated actions on individual items.

To use this block, Javascript must be enabled in your browse and you must be in editing mode in the course home page. The user must have capability "block/massaction:use". The block should work in most course formats.

Supported actions include mass selection, indentation, deletion, hiding, showing, making available, duplicating, and moving. To select items to perform actions on, simply click the checkbox next to the activity or resource or use select functionality from the block.  Then click the action you would like to perform in the block.

If you encounter bugs or have suggestions for improvement, please use the bug tracker URL and I will work on those as quickly as possible.

    @Sebastien Jaffredo,

    I am not aware of a block or plug-in that could do this for you. I'll bring the idea up to our analysts and see how useful they feel this might be for our users. If they like the idea, then I'll see about getting work on that prioritised, whether that is my coding such a thing from start to finish or merely contributing to someone else's work. I'm not sure how you could set such a thing up to affect multiple courses and multiple activities within those courses simultaneously. Obviously, you probably could, but it would probably be easiest to make it work at a course level. Also, how often would changing these settings across multiple courses really be useful?

    We've noticed a conflict between this plugin and certain course formats, especially Collapsed Topics. When Collapsed Topics is selected as the Course Format, this block does not appear in the drop-down list, nor will it display. If we set the course to Topics or Weeks, the block works again. If we set the course format back to Collapsed Topics, the block disappears again.

    @Sebastian, see discussion about the "Assignment Reset Tool" in https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-30049?filter=14374 and at https://github.com/fernandooliveira/moodle-block_art_24 Documentation is here: http://moodlefn.com/docs/MoodleFN_Assignment_Reset_Tool.pdf - this doesn't allow you to set "access from" and "access to" dates, but could probably be extended to do so. It also only works on assignments, not other activities, but at least it's a starting point.

    @Derek Chirnside

    The problem she reported should be fixed. The block was previously coded to work only with certain course formats. The latest version available does not possess this limitation.

    Hi Clem,
    I just tried to translate some strings, but your plugin doesn't seem to be integrated into AMOS. Do you know wether this is normal? Is it a bug?

    Hi,
    I would like to know if "...and AJAX must be disabled" is relevant for moodle 2.7.
    Thank you.

    Before an upgrade, all my courses rested upon the Tab course format. During the upgrade, I forgot to add the Tab plugin files to the relevant directory and the result was a total mess. All files and exercises in various sections within a lesson were now listed under one section and all the remaining sections were blank! In one lesson, there were more than 300 items to move. It is all thanks to this plugin that this took less time than I feared. I would like to thank those who developed and improved this wonderful and very useful plugin.

    Great block, very useful - thank you! I wonder if it would be difficult to enable this block to be used in the 'Activities' view. While I can get the block to appear in this view, it will not display all the check boxes. I think adding this functionality, to mass delete, hide or move by Activity would bump this into one of the most effective admin tools yet!

    Are there plans to add "copy" to this block?

    I have added a pull request that adds a "Duplicate to section" functionality. Please consider adding this feature. Thanks!

    Thank you for adding the duplicate feature and sorry that I didn't return to this site sooner. I tried the duplicate function today and it works great.

    Like Eliz. Dalton, we are seeing some problems when Mass Actions is used under the Collapsed Topics format. (Works fine in other formats). We are able to add the block under Collapsed Topics, but the drop-down lists do not display custom Section names, rather the drop-downs list Topic 1, Topic 2, Topic 3, etc.

    This appears to be a regression for a fix I requested two years ago smile See comment posted below by Huy Hoang Thu, Apr 4, 2013, 2:42 PM (Uploaded version 2013040400 that tries to parse the section names, as requested by Michele.)

    The mass action block option is not appearing on the block menu, I am using moodle 3.0.
