This module can be used to work with digital competence grids within Moodle spanning over courses. This concept allows for - teachers to create digital competence grids in Moodle - teachers to work collaboratively, sharing tasks and materials in the pedagogical framework of a competence grid - individualization by assigning specific tasks to all or certain students - working with a weekly schedule using a drag&drop interface - using the free app DAKORA for both teachers and students to provide materials and upload solutions to Moodle - creating extensive competence profiles of students related to their level and achievements - comprehensive reporting of students’ achievements, competence levels and soft skills

Teachers and students can document their work within competence fields - students self-reflect and establish their individual course spanning competence profiles. Portfolio artefacts can be linked to competences. Teachers can assign learning paths to students and provide them with different (Moodle-)activities and materials on different difficulty levels.

Competence grids can be created in a Moodle course collaboratively or externally at www.edustandards.org (export of xml-file).
The module used together with the app DAKORA addresses the aspect that all teachers (Moodle experts as well as those that want to discover Moodle step-by-step) are provided with a pedagogical framework from the first moment on using pre-configured settings.

Exabis Competencies – Competence grid is part of a suite of three main modules: Exabis ePortfolio (portfolio work), Exabis Competencies - Competence grids (connecting artefacts to competences and individualization paths using digital competence grids) and Exabis student review (course spanning reporting tool of students’ achievements including assessment of soft skills).

The module can be used standalone or as part of this suite. Advantage of using all three modules together is that learner driven learning paths can be established – these are teacher guided, self-paced, competence-based and individualized.

The free app DAKORA (working with digital competence grids) which was developed together with the Federal Ministry of Education in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, allows work with all three modules with an innovative interface for tablets and smartphones which can be downloaded from all app stores.

    Hi,
I have installed this plugin, but it does not work with PostgreSQL. I got errors in the log, when I try to initiate the configuration in a course:

2012-06-26 23:49:10 CEST ERROR: Column »Basisstufe« does not exist at character 71
    2012-06-26 23:49:10 CEST COMMAND: INSERT INTO mdl_block_exacompedulevels (id,sorting,title) VALUES(1,64,"Basisstufe")

It seems to be the " - Quotes ... PostgreSQL is trying to reference the column "Basisstufe" ... I tried the statement with ' Single Quotes and it works.

Could you make this plugin work with PostgreSQL .... I am using the Portfolio Plugin too ... it would be great, to use both of the plugins with PostgreSQL and not beeing punished for choosing the "right db" ;)

If i can help you with some more error messages, please let me know.

    Thanks ...

    Hi,
I am translating the exabis competencies in AMOS, and I found one English language string that looks like german language to me:

exacompinfotext "Deine bisher erworbenen Kompetenzen" might perhaps be "Your previously acquired skills".

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Another English language string that looks like german language:

exaportinfotext "Eine Übersicht über die Portfolio Einträge, die mit Kompetenzen assoziiert sind"

might perhaps be "An overview of the portfolio entries that are associated with skills"

    Thanks again

    Hi,
    Another string:

might be (according to google translate) "Here you can specify the marking scheme for this course. Allowed are numbers 1-10. 1 is used by default, i.e. it can be selected in a checkbox, if a competence is satisfied or not. N is a number greater than 1 causes a rating scale with n occurrences."

    Thanks again

    Hi,
    Another string:
infotext "Dises Dokument bietet eine Übersicht über deinen bisherigen Kompetenzerwerb. Es setzt sich aus Daten von 3 unterschiedlicher Module zusammen und bietet einen umfangreichen Überblick über deine Fähigkeiten."

might be (by google translator) "Here you can specify the marking scheme for this course. Allowed are numbers 1-10. 1 is used by default, i.e. it can be selected in a checkbox, if a competence is satisfied or not. N is a number greater than 1 causes a rating scale with n occurrences."

    Thanks again

I love the concept behind this plugin. I can't wait to use it with my ESL students.
I'm using Moodle 2.3.3 and I get this message:
"Coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: Invalid database query parameter value"
    What should I do?
    Thanks in advance.
