    Hi, Kirtiman.

I tried to replicated this and I found out a couple of things. When a student submits an assignment (I assume you are not talking about a Workshop), the bar segment goes yellow to indicate it has been submitted. If I use "Remove submission" from the Assignment interface (as teacher or student), the submitted file is removed, but the submission entry remains, so the bar continues to show yellow; that's without any changes to the Activity completion settings.

When I add the Activity completion settings you suggest, they are considered before the check for the submission. So because a submission has been made and removed, the assignment reports that the student has viewed and submitted, even after you remove the submission.

So I think the block is consistent with what the Assignment module is reporting for completion. The Activity completion report also shows the same. Whether that makes sense or whether that's a bug in the Assignment module may be another question. I find it a bit confusing when the submission entry remains after "removing" the "submission" (file). You might want to consider that and report it as a bug in the Moodle Tracker (if it hasn't been reported already).

In the meantime, I'm not sure if you are grading these assignments, but that you may want to include that in your completion settings.

@Chaitanya - the Completion Progress bar, tracks progress within a course. I don't think that it will be able to work on the Dashboard (which isn't a course), which is why it probably removes itself.

@Chaitanya - first thing is to make sure that Completion tracking is enabled at site level (Administration > Advanced Features > Enable Completion Tracking. You then need to ensure it is enabled at course level, go into the Course Settings to turn this on if necessary, you then need to have some activities or resources set up to be trackable. If you do, then boxes will appear on right hand side which get ticked once complete - it is these ticks that the Completion Progress bar picks up (the exception is assignments, which behave slightly oddly where if you set completion based on achievement of a grade, the ticks on right will mark a non-passed assignment as complete, but the Completion Progress bar correctly recognises a non-pass assignment as not being a pass. In terms of the overview of students button this should be default for the editing teacher and non-editing teacher role.

    Hi, all.

Yes, it does work on the Site home and Dashboard pages and shows students a combined view of all the Completion Progress blocks from courses that use this block.

You can add the block, but if it is being removed, you may want to make changes to the permissions for editing the Dashboard.

    Hi, all.

I've added grouping functions to the instance settings and to the Overview page. I hope this helps those people who were requesting it.

    Hi Michael
Is there any chance you could the functionality for the colour to change back to yellow instead of staying red if a student has not passed the first attempt of an assignment and the teacher has given them another attempt? At the moment once the teacher grades it as not passed it stays red until they pass even though the teacher has given them another attempt and the student has submitted again but is still awaiting the teacher to grade it again.
    Cheers

    Hi, All.

Michelle: Unfortunately, the judgement of completion on assignment attempts is controlled by the completion system, so I can't affect that. Perhaps it could be reported as a core bug. The block does look at the latest attempt when considering submissions separately to completion. Have you tried the block's new groupings functionality yet? It would be good to get your feedback.

Ricardo: Thanks for reporting that bug. I've fixed that with a few others in the latest release.

Could you please add a CHANGELOG.md to your plugin? We're currently upgrading from Moodle 3.2.x to Moodle 3.5.x and it would be very helpful if there was a easily digestible changelog which would describe fixes, new features or other changes.

    Hi, Daniel.

I do try to keep a list of changes through Git. You can see this using the "git log" command.

We have courses with thousands of students, and would like to have a search feature on the overview page. Is there one in the works? The selection of the firstname / lastname letter would also help.

    Hi Michael,

I have set up a quiz with an essay (this needs manual grading). The activity completion is set to "Requires a Grade" to be marked complete.
The quiz activity is attempted but not yet graded. Unlike the assignment activity which turns yellow when submitted, the quiz remains in blue. Shouldn't the quiz also turn yellow when attempted but not yet graded?
Is this due to the activities behave differently (meaning you 'submit' an assignment but 'attempt' a quiz)? Your help is much appreciated.

    Kind Regards,
    Aparna

    Hello Michael!

I have been using this exceptional tool to help us track student's progress. Thanks for this plugin! I am wondering, Is there a way to have the progress report of one particular student, where you can see what has the student done and what is yet to be completed?

We have users enrolled in several courses within different categories and I was wondering if there is a way to have this type of report.

    Thanks in advance,
    J.Guzman
