PLEASE NOTE: This plugin is no longer being actively maintained by Brickfield. The main challenge is with the third-party external ATBar, which is not being maintained at all by its authors, at some point has lost all of its docs, and doesn't have an up-to-date SSL.

If someone has funding, and would like to cover the updating of this plugin, we would be happy to engage with you on this.

We are planning on sharing a new plugin which will provide guidance to users with their font size, font colour, and other display options, depending on their browser. We will update this plugin description once it's available.

The block allows users to customise Moodle to their visual needs.  It supports changing of text sizes and colour schemes.  Customisations save to the user's session, allowing them to persist between pages, and can also be saved to the database allowing them to apply permanently.

The block also integrates ATBar from Southampton University ECS. This provides extra tools and customisation options, including dictionary lookup and Text-to-speech.  Visual customisations performed with ATBar don't currently persist, and can be used as well as or instead of the block's own customisations.

Please don't report bugs here

    Mark,

    |t looks like the CSS file error re-occurs when trying to view a badge page in 2.5. I've updated https://github.com/marxjohnson/moodle-block_accessibility/issues/17 with further details for you.

    Thanks

Hi Mark, Great block...and here is some 'Good news', just to say this block works OK in Moodle 2.6 Alpha. At least in the pages I have tested so far. Admin and Frontpage. I will keep testing and if I hit a pot-hole will let you know! smile

    Hi Chris,
It seems the text size CSS is too hacky (or not hacky enough) for some themes. There's a possible solution on the project's issue tracker which I'll try and review this week to see if it solves the problem.

    Hi Mark,
Is this block compatible with the Clean Theme i.e Twitter Bootstrap version ? From what I see , it only affects the Header and the footer for now ( clicking on A+ for eg., expands only these 2 regions ) .

Hi, having a few issues with the plugin. Whenever I change the theme and then try and 'reset' the webpage to revert the changes. Nothing happens. I've tested with multiple different theme options. Only way to fix it is to uninstall so it deletes the database entries.

I've tried the comment method in database.php. Still doesn't work.

    Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi Bradly,
A new developer is currently working on many fixes to this block. If you download the latest version from GitHub[1] you may find that your issue is fixed. If not, please report the bug there, and hopefully Hrvoje will be able to assist.

    Many Thanks
    Mark

    Hi,
I have a local installation of Moodle 2.8 and the plugin does not work. Is it my fault or you need to upgrade the plugin?

    Thanks.

This is a great plug in. We installed this in Moodle 2.7 and works well however, the ATbar doesn't work for students when in an activity. We ticked "always" when launching but only works in teacher role or higher. I've tried to tweak settings but can't seem to find the root of the problem. Would be great to have a solution as the text to speech is fantastic for learners with difficulties in reading. I welcome your advice smile

    Hello,

this is a very nice block! It works very well besides the fact that you have to add the block to every page.
To avoid this, I've made a version of the clean them in high contrast mode (it has a custom frontpage, but you can remove it ;)
    It is on github:

    Kind regards,
    Daniel
