Use Cases

Presentations

Oral presentations have become a common means of assessing students' understanding of the topics covered in a course of study. However, it is not always practical for each student to present live to their teachers and peers. Recorded audio and video submissions allow asynchonous assessment of presentations, allowing teachers to preserve valuable instruction time. Poodll Assignment Submission is perfect for remote learning contexts in which learners lack the opportunity to present in a shared physical space.

Speaking Practice

In language learning contexts, teachers are always searching for new opportunities to get their students speaking. Recorded mini-assignments give language learners the opportunity to practice basic skills such as self-introductions or presenting a unique aspect of their culture or homeland. Intermediate or advanced students might record extended monologues or unscripted conversations with classmates for assessment by the teacher.

    Hi Pascal

On the MP3 recorder there is a pause button. But it must be enabled in the PoodLL filter settings.
The setting is under microphone settings, and called "Allow pause (MP3 recorder only)".

    Is that what you wanted?

In order to finalize a assignment, my student need to record a specifiek telephone call. There aloud to do this on there smartphone, in order to upload this immediately to the e-learning environment. This plugin seems to be IT! Unfortunately this plugin doesn't seem to work via a smartphone. Does it?

it does work on a smartphone, but it has limited functionality. It should detect the user is on a mobile device and show an upload button. When the user clicks that they have the option of recording on their phone or choosing a file. But this is the browsers native "record or choose" area. You won't be able to record a phone call here or even see the assignment page. I suppose the student could hold the recording phone close to another phone doing the call on "speaker phone" mode. That seems a bit of a stretch though.

I have set the filter to use flowplayer in default player types http://screencast.com/t/Spq3DfXhMT4
and in flowplayer settings i have set these settings : http://screencast.com/t/7rBZhbDw9C

If the audio is recorded but not the video, then its a tricky situation. Sometimes a webcam can only be used on one device by one application. So if another browser was using it, or a native app like Skype, then nothing else can. I would suggest rebooting and trying again. If this is a problem on more than one machine, ie its all the internet explorers in your school, then we will need to learn a bit more about internet explorer and permissions I suspect.
