Barry - Many thanks for sharing this plugin with the Moodle community. Just a couple preliminary comments before I look further into the plugin. First, do you have a screenshot that you might provide to give folks an idea of what the submission type looks like. Second, the ideal Github.com repository name would be moodle-assignsubmission_metadata. Would you consider renaming it. It is not required to do so; however, it does help provide a consistent experience for site admins using Git to manage their plugins. Peace - Anthony

Barry - There was a validation warning about the lack of a README.txt file. This file helps to provide folks with some basic information about how to install and use the plugin. It is good to provide some documentation with the code. It also looks as though NetSpot is the listed copyright holder for the code. What is your relationship with Netspot and Netspot's connection with the code?

For now I am going to mark this plugin as needing more work until I hear back about how you want to handle the Github.com repository name, add the README. txt file, and we make sure the copyright is correct. Peace - Anthony

Hi Anthony, I was just looking at what this plugin does and it seems although the student can add the metadata fields to their submission the data is not displayed anywhere to the teacher so this is not in a working state at the moment.

Thanks for the update on the functionality of the code. Even if the code is not fully functional, we can release it to the community if the maturity is set to alpha. That might allow others to collaborate with you. I'd still like to get the Github.com repository renamed to match the Moodle naming convention unless you have reasons you would prefer not to do that. Peace - Anthony

Hi Anthony, I have made all the changes needed:
added readme, updated copyright info, renamed repos on github, fixed language strings & database field definitions.
The plugin now displays the metadata to the teacher once they click on the view icon.
I also created a Moodle 2.5 branch & added screenshots

Barry - In locallib.php I noticed two things. First is a Netspot copyright that was later in the file. Second, there is a language string that is listed as artwork_size which I suspect should just be size. Many thanks for fixing things up. I'm going to go ahead and approve it and let you fix up these little details. Peace - Anthony
