Hi there,

Well I've understood why: in Lang Teaching the Recent Activity Block only shows messages posted in the hour (rather less in fact) before I log on. Messages older than that are not shown. (It's the same in the Facilitators Corner.) Whereas here in Using Moodle the Block shows all the messages since I last logged out. The same in the Lounge and the French Forum.

Now I know, I know who to ask for help: the dear admin  HF. big grin

Cheers,

Hi there,

For some time the Recent activity block hasn't been working for me in the Moodle for Language Teaching "course". Whether there are new posts or not, when I log in it shows:

Can I inadvertently have modified a setting as Facilitator?

If I post a message while logged in it shows up.

On all other forums the Recent activity block works normally for me.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Joseph,

It's not because it's in English I understand it!

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Faruq,

This is what Gordon wrote:

Re: Hot Potatoes in Moodle 2.1.1+ 12 October 2011, 01:31 AM

(I found it by doing a Google search for "Hot Potatoes for Moodle 2")

The HotPot module is not included in the standard install of Moodle 2.x.

You need to install it "by hand" like this:

  1. downloadthe zip file containing the HotPot module for Moodle 2.x
  2. when you unzip the file you will find the following two folders:
    • hotpot
put this folder within the "mod" folder on your Moodle web server
    • question
this folder contains a folder called "format", which contains a folder called "hotpot". Put this "hotpot" folder within the "question/format" folder on your Moodle web server
  3. login to Moodle as a Moodle administrator and the installation of the HotPot module should commence. If not, navigate to Settings -> Site administration -> Notifications

Cheers,

Glenys

PS: For Gordon, why can't I find the Hot Potatoes module in the Moodle Plugins Directory?
