I know that there are a lot of language teachers that would be very interested in

as it looks unlikely that NanoGong will ever be part of Moodle 2.

Would the Java applet for recording audio be available elsewhere in Moodle - I'm thinking particularly of forums and glossaries ?

Is it possible to say how far down the line this would be ?

Hi everyone and particularly Pat,

I've fixed the instructions and added a couple more exercises so there are now 4 in Actions:

1. Hot Spot Image
2. Drag and Drop Labelling
3. Gap Fill
4. Categories (I'm particularly interested in this one - it seems to work nicely )

The images I used, by the way, are all free from UVic's Language Teaching Clipart Library.

But... I tried to instal XOT on my Xampp server running on my OS X 10.6.6 Mac. It installed OK but when I try to edit a project, the window is completely blank. Any ideas?

Hi Deborah, Colin and Pat,

I've been working on Xerte and finally managed to make a pair of simple exercises on my local Xampp server and export them as a zip file to an online Moodle site. You can see it here: Actions

I've also written a "tutorial" explaining how I did it that I've posted on the Language Teaching forum: Xerte - learning objects (file too big for this forum).

It's quite easy - when you know how. but maybe not for people new to making online exercises ...or maybe I've just been spoiled too much by Martin Homes, Stewart Arneil and Gordon Bateson making things so very simple.

Oh, drat it! I see I've forgotten the instructions for the second exercise - I'll fix it tomorrow.

Alors, si moi j'ai pu le faire ici tu crois que c'est parce que je suis le chouchou des modérateurs ? Je pense que tu as essayé de mettre le code dans la source html - nous les "étudiants" ici nous n'avons pas le droit de faire ça - mais un simple lien vers la vidéo marche sans problème.

Puisque tu as des problèmes avec l'anglais, je te mets une en ... :
