Hi Maria, this seems to be a filesystem problem. Do your moodledata folder and the temporary backup folder in this folder have the www-data or apache user rights to write to?
Maybe you could check this via your site administrator or the system admin.
Hi Emma, I have the same problem with "copy course" in Moodle 4.1.9, I see that a backup is created first, with the restore I see this message "Potential coding error - existing temptables found when disposing database. Must be dropped!" and the course copy isn't created. But the message that the course is still busy with the copy doesn't dissapear anymore, very annoying. This error isn't always happening, sometimes the copy finishes, but it takes a long time to run.

I see in the backup_controllers table 39 courses that failed to backup in the automated backup control process and that ended with status 800. I also see a lot of directories in the temp backup folder that were created during the nightly run of the automated backup process. How can I find out why these backups failed and can I delete these failed backup in the backup_controllers table?

We use Moodle 4.1.9 and the automated backup process runs after 22 hours until next morning.
