Hotmail

Is there someone out there that can call Bill Gates and get him to tell his Hotmail spam guys to let Moodle authentication emails thru?

They don't make it to either the inbox or the spam filter...

Hotmail filters spam using SPF validation (amongst other things). have you set this up for your domain?

I have to admit I do not know what that means.

Can you give me some more information?
Thank you.

SPF is a certificate type system that tells the world what ip addresses are allowed to send mail claiming to come from your domain. Your ISP would normally deal with it for you.

Re: Hotmail

Hi Rob

Hit the same problem last week, has Hotmail just implemented it?

Anyway, for anyone else that's looking for info, this site explains it and also has a wizard for creating the SPF record if required.

This site gives a quick guide to implementing it if you have access to WHM on your server.

Regards
H

If your hosting company has cpanel, you can setup SPF through "Email Authentication" by adding hotmail.com domain on "Additional Hosts that send mail for your domains" section.
