New User: How do you upload courses

I have been tasked with uploading courses to moodle and need to find out how. I have moodle installed and that seems to work fine. I have 18 courses that I need to upload that are on cd. I have no idea how to get the courses from cd to moodle. Any help would be apprieciated.

The restore process is pretty easy as long as the course archives are less than the upload limit on your moodle instance.

  1. I would recommend that you create a course called "uploads". This allows you to have a special place to upload course archives and then restore them without running the risk of accidentally restoring over your front page!
  2. Once you have created this course, go to the course files area. Use "browse" to upload the course archive files that must be on that CD you mentioned earlier.
  3. After you have gotten the course archives uploaded, then click on the "restore" link to the right of the first archive. Fill out the forms you see and restore the course.
  4. Then assign the instructors.

It isn't very hard!
