I've had two sites with Moodle at http://ipowerweb.com for several years, and at $94.50 a year including domain name, it's a great value (1) for learning the technical aspects of installing and running Moodle and (2) running small classes of just 50 or 60 participants. (I have no idea of how many classes/students the host could support.)
Now after installing Moodle 1.3.1 on a new server, I notice an ERROR in the phpMyAdmin section of the control panel. Specifically, at the bottom of the 83 Moodle tables, there is the two-line ERROR MESSAGE:
The additional Features for working with linked Tables have been deactivated. To find out why click here. which links to....
I've discussed this with my site host, and they said "the "linked tables" functionality was not enabled through phpMyAdmin when it was first installed, and then they said to let them know if (Moodle's) database requirement specifically uses this feature.
Everything in Moodle works, apparently, but this is beyond my level of expertise, so here's the technical question: Is the linked tables functionality necessary for Moodle to work properly?
Thanks a lot!
