New Zealand and VLEs - a question

I've hear from a couple of unreliable sources that New Zealand has decided not to use VLEs in primary and secondary phases of education - and that Australia is coming to the same conclusion. Anyone out there actually /know/ if that's teh case?

If you mean they are not "mandating" it like I believe is the case in the UK, then it sounds like they may actually be using some logic in their decision making process.

Schools in "Australia" and "New Zealand" get to make their own choices and hopefully only use VLEs when there is some benefit.

Thanks for that - looks like it might be worth an article in the UK education press if I convince anyone. If anyone has specific sources I could cite that would help, but you've all given me a start.
