The idea here is that students do not have to leave the course to search for additional resources or materials. The search block uses AJAX to display the results within the block and then clicking a link will then open in a new window.
If you install it and your searches just result in nothing, it means you did not read the aptly named "ReadMe.txt"
This block requires a Google API key. Just make sure you go to the block settings in your admin screen and set it up there.
Wonder if the Moodle media filters will work here..lets try :
... on my 1.9 moodle - as soon as I activate the block in a course, everything in the middle column appears
I have the block in 3 1.9 sites of my own without that issue appearing..could it be a theme issue?
Nice block, thanks. I have the same problem, text appearing centered. Using 1.9x and theme is Standardwhite.
Thanks Mr Wagner and regards from Kerpen
Andrew, where/how are you trying to change the name of the block? The easiest way to do it is edit the wording in the language file.
I have the same problem! The name of the block and the link theweb have 2 brackets [[.(See the picture below). I don't want to appears this brackets! Can you tell me how to fix this problem?
Any solution for this? I am using the Solstice them from Newschool.
Grant, as Dietmar says above, open the styles.css file in the blocks/ajax_google_search/extras folder and look at the first 2 or 3 lines.
You can either delete these lines
or comment it out with a hash like this...
I tried to install AJAX Google Search Block but i couldn't because I can't see the block. You say in "ReadMe.txt" : Go to "Administration". Block will be installed.
It wasn't installed! Can you explain me especially the steps for install?
When it said go to the Administration panel, you need to click Notifications. Then it should pickup the new block and install it for you.
You always helping me!!
I owe you!!!
The link on M&P seems to be broken.
Hoping to try this one out.
