Running 1.8 on a VM with SQL Server 2005 as the DB, but can't decide the best option to backup the whole thing, a bit confused with it. What option would allow the easiest way to restore everything? I am already backing up the SQL DB nightly using SQL Agent, but as far as the moodle and moodledata directories, what else needs to be saved or backed up?
This is partly in preparation to upgrade our install to 1.9. The upgrade document says that Moodle upgrades cleanly, but then also recommends not installing OVER the old installation, and rather to a new directory. How would this be a clean upgrade then?
