The javascript version of the chat does not work correct with Firefox 2.0.0.13, Win XP, Moodle 1.9 20080324, Theme Chameleon - you just can post one message
The problem seems to be that some of the themes mess with important bits of the CSS. We have found some themes that double the entries, and others that ignore certain people. And in some versions of IE on a Mac it displays white text on a white background (duh).
Our solution was to take the standard theme and just change
a picture and the color of the links. Perhaps the themes could use a test suite to ensure that they don't break stuff!
