I'm having the same problem. We recently upgraded to 1.9. A number of students have just completed a lesson that has essay questions and although there is a list of students under the grade essay tab, there are no essays in the essay column and no where to click to grade them, and I know this worked when we used Moodle 1.6. All of the students are enrolled in the course. Help please!
