Hi,
The Moodle Scheduled backups take up to 8 hours, and during this time the performance of the system is significantly degraded.
It also looks as though many courases which have not changed in years are being backup up (not being skipped).
Can anyone direct me to information that will help us optimize our backup "window".

I am new to this... but I have found the courses where "not available to students" has been selected in the course settings and haven't be changed in over 30 days are the ones which get skipped in our back ups. I hope that helps a little. Since you will have to go in change the course settings in those courses, and it may count that as "changed", it may take a while for this to show up in your back up logs.
