Hi,
I installed the deb-package for moodle, transfered the tree to /var/www set the values in config.php. Then opened the brwser /localhost/moodle/admin. Empty. Then I traced through the scripts. I ended in the function PConnect (adodb.inc.php), where the variables are set correctly, $this->_isPersistentConnection gets the value 1. In the next if-statement the program jumps to the else statement. And there seems to be a problem. In setup.php $dbconnected remains empty.
What is my mistake?

Grr, it was so simple: In php.ini den Eintrag extension=mysql.so aktivieren!
