You can import several formats of data into the Hot Potatoes programs (JCloze, JQuiz, etc), and then use those Hot Potatoes exercises in a Moodle course. Also, you can import several formats into Moodle's Quiz module.

The HotPot module has several reports which are useful for identifying what your students and having trouble with, and what they are good at. Also, Moodle has a very sophisticated reporting system.
