Remove long posts from moodle.org forums

Hi !

Can we start an effort to delete / edit some posts from the Forums in Using Moodle course ? Since the forums are important for successful Moodle usage, it is critical that users searching for information are able to reach the correct post without having to go through long posts.

Whenever we find long posts that can be removed / edited, we could mention here and whoever maintains this course could do it. Here is my first request, please remove this post :

http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=84970

Posts such as these pop up in all searches and yield no information at all.

Hi Anil,

Thanks for your suggestion to edit extra-long forum posts to ensure they don't keep appearing in lots of forum searches. approve

I've shortened the ones you mention and created a tracker issue - MDLSITE-369 - for any more extra-long forum posts that you find (or anyone else finds).

Helen,

because most of those long posts contain either php.ini or php info you could search them with some variable that is rarely changed in moodle like

always_populate_raw_post_data
