Hi,
I've just installed moodle and I think it's absolutely great! It's exactly what I was looking for.
But I'm wondering if there is a possibility that students submit an URL?
I do some courses on webdesign and web programming and I don't need the whole website to be uploaded by students. The URL would be enough.
Is this possible?
thanks
And then and URL with a student comment/annotation field like SHELVES have, I hope..
Hi Ger!
That is why I like the script by Williams, it provides for a Bookmark comment area.
Also, if the 'URL" can be stored in an area with other file storage ( like the present "files" area or the coming "DMS") that would provide an easier way to manage all stored material in one location.

Hi Ger!
I'm sorry, but I don't know why you mean. Could you please post you answer more detailed? Sorry for my "not-understanding"...

Hi,
The glossary module is another option.
aaaahh - I see. Thank you!
Well, it works - but it is not very convenient.

Yes I know what you mean, the layout is not ideal for urls, although all the information can be entered there: the url, a title, description, even files can be attached if that is necessary. Each entry by a student can be approved and graded too.
However a dedicated module or resource type would be preferrable, I agree.
I think an "online assignment" type would do the trick.
In the meantime, have you considered the journal?

Hi Przemyslaw!
Thank you for the hint with the journal! This is a quite convenient solution.
