Assignment

I am desiring to provide a method whereby a learner can online keep track of assignments completed (and the facilitator can as well) even if the assignment is an offline assignment or an assignment that doesn't require something to be turned in. The ideal would be if if there were an assignment type that would provide space to explain the assignment, give an available from and and due date, and then at the bottom the learner would simply see (and click) a button labled "assignment completed" or something similar. Thus both the learner and facilitator would have a "time stamp" as to when the assignment was completed.

We are currently using the "online text" assignment type for this; but this requires an additional scrolling down past the text box and an additional click that is very confusing to ALL of our first time users.

Is anyone aware of something like this, or of a way to modify the "online text" assignment type so that it would behave this way.
