What about a temporary solution until a more final and acceptable mod is created for Moodle
I appreciate the issues about storage and bandwidth. I think that, Moodlers
, especially novices like myself, need a spot to post their themes while in development. A location that is easy for all interested to get to without having to go off site. Something like a "one stop
" theme area. Multiple versions of the themes could be posted while they are being developed and fine tuned, then, they could be submitted to Moodle.org
for final testing, and hopefully, subsequent posting in a Moodle Theme Repository
which could be searched by keywords - color - educational - commercial - flash - etcetera...
This could be a really good teaching interface with forums. Also, a way for folks to tune into the future Moodle
integration with XML
Just some thoughts. What do you feel about this.
I just read Hans post above. What I am suggesting is temporary. Also, I hope a detailed theme tutorial will emerge from what I have suggested and fit in with the future anticipated XML Moodle
. I know what has happenned in the phpNUKE
community and yes, it can be an adventure when looking for modules or features for a phpNUKE site because of all the "AdOn" and "Theme" sites apart from the main site. That is not what I am trying to suggest should happen here.
