Hi CK,

thanks for the info on the CK-ERP. For the semi-technical among us could you explain a little more how this works.

We use Moodle for our online students and we need a CRM system that we can use to communicate with prospective students (to discuss the suitability of our courses with them, handle their formal applications and accept fee payments).

Is this the sort of thing that CK-ERP will handle?

When you list Moodle as a 'middleware' do you mean that it sits on top of moodle (or does it sit beside it and communicate with it)?

Possibly the following question should be posted elsewhere on the CK-ERP community, but while you're here I'll go ahead: Does it have a high level interface for customisation (eg. automated email to course leader when an application form comes in), or do you have to get down and dirty in PHP?

Thanks for the help. Fell free to contact me directly if you think this is not appropriate for the Lounge.

Brian

Hi, Brian,

Thank you for your interest in CK-ERP.

CK-ERP's CRM module does provide a general purpose helpdesk/hotline function for the helpdesk operator to record the sequence of (followup) events after a call is placed with the hotline. Each call case (and followup action) can be assigned to a particular staff (course leader), and a supervisory staff is assigned to monitor the progress of the entire case. Automated email will be sent to both the tasked staff and the monitoring staff whenever there is any change to the case log.

There is no direct link between the helpdesk module and the backend money handling portion. However, I understand that there is a Moodle paypal module that can handle online payment. At the same time, you could also utilize CK-ERP's invoicing function to email invoice to the prospective student.

My suggestion, at this point, is that you could visit the (Moodle + CK-
ERP) demo at http://ck-erp.org/moodle/login/index.php and follow the left-hand link labelled 'Customer Relationship' to check out in a live environment, whether CK-ERP meets your requirement or not.

Best Regards,
CK
