Am running Acrobat reader plugin version 6. Upgrade to moodle 1.9 Beta from version 1.6
In a course, added a resource to link to a .pdf file, giving the following link
http://egc.wa.edu.au/moodle/mod/resource/view.php?id=587
Using acrobat reader version 6, I get a blank page which says hit spacebar or enter to use this control.
Selecting in-line, or new window makes no difference.
Upgrading to Acrobat version 7 (and later) seems to fix the problem, but I have *administrative* issues in trying to roll out a later version of Acrobat on all of our machines.
tried the "trailing slash" suggestion.
Read some stuff about changing things in the file serving code ?? Will this help ?
Used to work in Moodle 1.6. Imbedding a link to the pdf in web page works...
TIA
Regards
Peter
Changes for accessibility to remove frames means that you need recent versions of Acrobat to see embedded files properly.
However, in other environments you shouldn't see blank pages ... you're supposed to see a link to download the file. Is it possible Acrobat 6 is broken?
Can you please file a bug in the Moodle tracker with as much detail as you can about OS, versions etc?

Mmmm...
On my test machine .. I de-installed acrobat 8, leaving acrobat 6.0.1 installed, as it done via Group Policy.
Moodle then does what you said, and gives me a download link.
As you suggested, it appears that our install of Acrobat 6 does have problems.
Sigh
