Hello Moodlers big grin,

I am working on issue 118:

Record a screen-captured video with a voice-over demonstrating how to
give a user the rights to moderate a forum, suitable for an admin who is
fairly new to Moodle.

Screencast Version:

Youtube Version:

I have updated the wiki for Forum_moderator_role, also added a link to the tutorial wink.

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reviewing,
Rowan

Hi Rowan,

Thanks for your video showing how to give a user the rights to moderate a forum. It's very nicely done with highlighting and text boxes. approve

However, as the video is quite short, I suggest you finish by showing the forum moderator logging in, accessing a forum discussion and then describing what he/she is now able to do. (The forum would need to have a few posts in it already.)

Also, a nice touch would be to assign a student the role of forum moderator, rather than the teacher demo.

Excellent video Rowan! Humour is an excellent pedagogical tool, and you used it well in your example. Your use of callouts and highlights is masterful. Each time I watch one of your videos for the first time, I learn something new smile

I just noticed that, when describing your site www.moodletutorials.org, you say "double-U double-U dot ...". It's fairly common to do that in describing URLs, but it literally translates to a wrong URL. There, I had to put one bit of constructive criticism, and this is all I could find :D

Hey Nicolas!

Thanks! I learn a lot from making the videos wink!

I did not even realize that I was only saying two w's! big grin
I will now be more careful when I say an URL!

Thanks,
Rowan

Hi Rowan,

Thanks a lot for improving your video and adding a link to it in the forum moderator role documentation. approve

I'm going to move this discussion to the forum module forum so that more people know about your video.

Well done for successfully completing GHOP task 118. smile
