To insert PowerPoint presentations into a book I use Impatica to create a Java script program of the PowerPoint. Conversion of PowerPoint to a java script using Impatica generates 3 files: an HTML link file, a Java script file *.-imp.jar, and a player file.
Import the HTML file into the book and as long as the 3 files are in the same directory, the presentation will play.
