Really nice Dmitry, thank you for sharing with us. I create a german language file, the two lines wink make a short german instruction in a readme file and make a different icon if someone like another icon. I test it under Moodle 1.8.x and 1.9x and 2.0dev, the filter works perfect! Only if the ressource shows up in a popup window, the internet explorers 7.x means script error, but this not a bug in your filter, the ie 7 seems the bug ...

I was sleeping, but now you have a second icon wink

Dmitry, in the german readme i have only list the different commands to hide text and how to change the background-color for the div-command in the css-file if they needed.

Nice eye, Andy! wink

Could you add description that full information in english readme? Or maybe will do full translate to German?
And last question. Maybe publish readme_de in utf8 for right display umlauts?
In reply to Dmitry Pupinin

Re: Trả lời: Re: New filter "Hidden Text" added

by Andy Tagliani -
Sure i can and will make a full description in german for you.

I tell them (in german) they be carefull about the umlauts and should look about the utf-8, because i think some will modify the language file with their own label.

Dmitry see what i´ve done, this is my answer about the full description in german. I create a course to your filter, first in german, after eastern i make the same course in english!

See here

Is this okay for you? Its forever for free to use and no registration need! The language file i make on this place, if sometings change, i can place there too.

Andy

Hello,

Please find enclosed a revised version of the filter that do not require one to switch to HTML mode in the HTMLEditor, with all the trouble for newbies users.

It still comply with the Dmitry syntax.

use [ht class="my_class" desc="my_desc"] the text [/ht] to get an online hidden span or
[htd class="xxx" desc="my_desc"] the text [/htd]
to get an online hidden div, right into HTMLEditor.

Cheers.

Also the french strings if you want :

$string['filtername'] = 'Texte caché';
$string['seemore'] = 'En savoir plus';

Good idea!
But I think better is use identical syntax, this little more length but no messes... wink So I could just add posibility to use square brackets.
It's good for you?
In reply to Dmitry Pupinin

Re: Trả lời: Re: New filter "Hidden Text" added

by Patrick Pollet -
As you wish. The square bracket syntax right into HTMLEditor is becoming more and more used in other filters (mediaplugin, multimovie, customfilter, geshi filter ...) and may become one day the standard for Moodle.
Non professional users are not supposed to "swap to HTML mode" to get extra features...

My filter version accept both syntaxes: square brackets and HTML marks.

Cheers.

Dmitry

Can i start with the german moodle docs this or latest next week, or should i wait, that we have no differences in the manual?

One point, there´s a feature request from some users. Can you/we add some more examples, special for the commands when and where can they use "desc". I think it will be a good idea to make some examples in the moodle docs or the plugin page. I´m really surprised how many user like this filter Dmitry, good job!!!

Re: New filter "Hidden Text" added

by Andy Tagliani -
Dmitry, i know now what happend. Two users tell me, they try the "desc" command, but (so they tell me this evening in a mail) it will not work, the description is still what is define in the language file. I will gonna see and test it in the next 2-3 days on their installation and give you a feedback. Thats the reason why they ask, can we make some examples with the "desc" command in the readme file for the other schools and teachers!

thank you for this great filter !

i translated it to Hebrew (tiny changes)
and add the ability to write the TAGs in hebrew
(since, sometimes, hebrew and english gets mixed inside the HTML textarea component when written together and teachers get confused)

some visible text [תמ] some hidden text goes here [תמס] visible text goes here

here is a link to the new version.

Hi all, I've managed to solve the irritating/annoying/exasperating scrolling problem mentioned and illustrated by Deni and Christian at
http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?d=13&rid=1101#
.
All you need to do is to just add one line of code to the file named "yuidomcollapse.js". Darn, it's that simple! Want to know the solution, you'l have to wait (not for long) for my coming post on Moodlenews.com!

Frankie, can you give us here that single line?

By the way, while trying to get hidden text active under moodle 2 I hacked another filter and tried to instert the hidden text code. Now I have three problems under moodle 2.x:

1. your problem of the visibility of answers during loading
2. the problem of the scrolling of the window (you can solve that?)
3. the problem that I have to refresh the page before I see the effect of the activation of the filter.

Hi Dimitry

Thanks for the Hdden Text Filter. It works on my site, but there's an irritating problem. When my course page first loads up, the hidden text appears for a few seconds (which it shouldn't do) and then hides itself (which is correct, except that the hidden text should have started off as hidden from the beginning). See this Youtube video to see what I mean.

So by displaying itself for a few seconds defeats the purpose of the Hidden Text filter. Students can catch a glimpse of the answer before the answer is hidden. Any suggestions as to what exactly is causing the problem? I'm using moodle 1.9.15.

Hi Dimitry, et. al.

And so my post on Moodlenews.com is long delayed due to this feature (bug?) of the Hidden Text filter which displays the answers, for all the world to see, a few seconds before hiding them. I really want to try to solve this, but have hit a dead end. Any tips anyone?
