Resources not linking to database

Hi,

We're having trouble with the database in Moodle not displaying the data in the front-end page. All resource and module data exists inside the database but when the user goes to the course page they cannot see the links to labels, resources and activities etc. that were previously there. Does anyone have and ideas?

Could you provide a bit more detail? Do the users see a blank page on the course page? Or do they see all the topics/weeks but with no links in them? Or do they just see one topic with no links in it?

They see all of the topics and the other page elements such as blocks but the links and dynamic info that were there before we re-started the server have gone. For example, there were a series of labels in one course. These no longer appear on the module page but can still be found in the database.

Does anyone have any ideas? I think we've resigned ourselves to having to rebuild the whole Moodle but it would be good to know what caused the problem so we can avoid it happening again. It seems to have occured shortly after we restarted the server - I don't know if this made a difference.

What do you mean when you say you "re-started the server"? Did you take backups (if so, how?) of courses before re-started the server?
