I have 40 glossary instances over 8 course. I want all glossaries to share the same 10 categories. That's a lot of category inputting. Any easy way to make all glossaries inherit the same categories? Moodle 1.9 beta
TIA

Until someone comes up with a proper answer, I made a spreadsheet
http://moodle.org/file.php/5/moddata/forum/126/310982/MoodleGlossaryPrepSheetWithCategory.xls
if you set up one definition for each category and import it into each glossary than (I think) it will create the categories in those categories - not sure what happens if you then delete those entries but I think orphaned categories will remain in place...HTH.
Or you could do the same in one of the glossaries, export including categories and then import that into each of your glossaries.

THanks Dave for the sheet and explanation of the process. I seems to me that many setups would want to use similar categorisations and that this should be part of glossaries many options. For now I'll do the 'longhand' but thanks for your input' it does helps some.
