XAMPP wants to uninstall after incorrect server shutdown procedures.

I successfully installed Moodle onto one of our servers today great! three hours later the engineers turned off the servers without shutting down XAMPP correctly. The end result is that Moodle will not run. XAMPP will not restart and only gives me the option to uninstall XAMPP. Should I reinstall everything again or is their a way of restarting XAMPP so that Moodle can run. Suggestions much appreciated. Mike
