Sticky news posts
We're implementing moodle internally for a quick demo to the senior management.
One feature we discussed that we'd like is the idea of a sticky post/news announcement, something that stays at the top of the very first home page, regardless of subsequent posts.
Does this already exist, or is a possible candidate to be built in, in a new release?

Re: Sticky news posts
Well, the news forum is meant to be for real news, and the front page description (right side) is meant to be for static stuff.
Future versions of Moodle (starting from 2.0) will have full templating, so you can rearrange these elements more easily. Even now it's a only a matter of doing a little editing of moodle/index.php to rearrange things. Does that help?

Re: Sticky news posts
That does help - thanks. We had that discussion here; that the static content is at the right hand side, although we wanted the focus to be centre-top.
Templating sounds great - that means that this will become more like a CMS with VLE functionality?
