Hi,

I have a forum in my course with group mode set to "separate groups". As a trainer I can add a new discussion for a special group but a cannot answer the post of the group members of that group although the capability moodle/site:accessallgroups is set to ALLOWED for trainers. Is this a bug or a feature???

I can only answer posts in that forum which are addressed to all participants.

There is a bug in mod/forum/post.php in Moodle version 1.8.2. (see BUG #MDL-12166). From Moodle version 1.8.3 on the code is correct.

Hi Gisela,

Thanks for the bug report and for your investigation of the issue. approve

Testing bugs in different versions of Moodle can be very time-consuming, especially for roles-related bugs, so it's a big help to Moodle developers if information about different versions is included in the bug report.
