Dear Venkatesan,

Perhaps you should remind them that the best "experts" are the world's largest university, Open University UK, and countless other prominent schools who use Moodle everyday as their main elearning software. Why would they use it if it is not stable?

It is a case of your board not being familiar with open source platforms. As Eric says, WebCT contained "likely hundreds or thousands of bugs" that are not public. In open source, bug reporting and bug fixing is public. Why do Google and the largest internet giants of the world use Linux, when it was reported to have 985 bugs in 2004? Perhaps because Windows could have up to 30 bugs in each 1000 lines of code. XP has 40 million lines of code--more than 1.3 million potential bugs!

Here is our testimony, "In five years, the Moodle LMS at our school has never been hacked, never been attacked by viruses, and never, ever crashed." Can Microsoft say that?
