I am also finding this to be a problem. I've got version 1.83+. Whole departments from our school have used advanced uploading of files for their assignments which students have submitted their work too, now I'm getting it in the neck as there is no way to re-submit. Is there a way around this, or do I need to re-create every assignment as a single upload of files?

I've just found out a workaround. If the teacher does not give a grade (but can still give a comment), and the pupil does not click send for marking and leaves their work as a draft, the pupil can delete old work and re-submit a new one with changes that have been instructed by the teacher.
Hopefully some time soon, an "allow resubmissions" button will be added to advanced uploading of files.

I'm so glad I've found this!! Was starting to having a panic... Mike your's work pefectly!! It's just getting the students to remember not to hit the 'Submit for marking' button though!!!

still not a good answer.
If a student mistakenly or not hits submit for marking there should be an admin route to get out of this problem.
I love the look of advanced assignments but students hit the button without thinking and then they can not update their work
Please any answers out there????

We had problems during our pilot with students pressing the Submit for marking button as well. I'm not really sure what real purpose this button serves. We used 1.8 for our pilot, but will be installing 1.9 when we make this available to the campus in the fall...if that button is still there in 1.9, I plan to hack it out of the code.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress on this?
We will be suggesting staff use the 'Adv upload' option, but if it doesn't have the Allow resubmission enabled I can see problems down the line.
I find it rather strange this was ommitted! it allows deletions, but not resubmissions.

still quiet on this. This really is a big issue when getting students to complete coursework and then giving them corrections to do which are then blocked I've had to go back to assignments where you just upload one file which is really annoying as I really like the multiple file submit option.
Please please can this be fixed or a button for the teacher be allowed to reset the assignemnt

In order to bring this issue to the attention of Moodle developers, I suggest you create a report in the tracker. If you then post the issue number in this discussions, others will be able to watch / vote for / comment on it.
