Well i have a problem with the backup. I`ve done all i can imagine for resolve the problem. Back up´s not finish when the courses are large and i have done all the advices read in this forum.

First i played with some php.ini settings (like max_execution, upload size) etc

Second i played with route to external methods like zip ( /usr/bin/zip ) with the same result

I had the same problem. This is how I solved it.
Via FTP, make a copy of the course folder in moodledata and keep this copy safe in your hard drive.
Delete the content of the folders in your moodle site (not the folders)
Go to Moodle and make a backup of your course. Now, in principle you will have a smaller backup file.
When you have your backup zip file, you can add to it the files you copied from the FTP.
I am aware that this is not THE SOLUTION, but we have no choice.
I hope that this will help

In the backup folder...

Did you try upping the time and MB in the backup.php file at line ~113?

Also, you can search for a similar tag located in restore.php at line ~134?

This solved my problem when I had a music teacher upload 250MB of audio files for students to practice.

By default these settings I believe are 192MB??? I upped mine to 600MB and have not had issues since.

Chris i do what you`ve commented but the result was the same confuso

Are there any apache config that can be the problem ? The course backup stopped at the same place !!!!! even changing the max time exec in php.ini .....

I have the max post size to 128 M and my course is only 36 MB !!!!!!
