I am runnning Moodle on Redhat 8.0.

If in the files section I create a sub-folder, it works BUT it is created without the X bit set for the user (the parent directory being owned by the Apache user).

The upshot of this is that it is impossible to upload any files into sub-folders. Is this a bug or have I got something set up wrongly somewhere?

Thanks

I am having this same problem. Check and see if there is a safe mode restriction set on you folders. My webhost has all my folders resricted which means you can do anything to a file you don't own. Nice huh considering we are paying for the service but can't use it smile You need to see if they can remove the restriction if there is one set. Also when apache creates the folders under safemode there are no permissions set even for owner.
