Moodle 1.8+
I cannot seem to create any calendar events. So far I've only tested as an administrator, but if I create a new site event and click 'Save Changes' it reloads the New Event form and the event never shows up in the calendar. Previously created events appear, but we cannot seem to create new ones. I have tested this with both site and user events.
I have checked all the settings as discussed in the various forums, but have had no luck getting events to show.
I am sure you have checked out this http://docs.moodle.org/en/Calendar.

date (obviously needs to be in future to show)
It sounds as if, it's rejecting your event as invalid for some reason.
