Re: Virtual Labs. What do you think?

Hi Luis,

I stomble on your post as I am searching for how I could include lab simulated activities for my students on Moodle. Some thing like activity on how to configure a router on virtual lab.

Please I will need your assistance to achieve this dream. I tried to explore the plugins you mentioned but could not get through, I believe there is way out.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thank you,

Joel.

Re: Virtual Labs. What do you think?

Hi Joel,

Updated info about the plugins (they are now called EJSApp), where to download them from, how to use them, etc. can be found in the next links:

http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/EJSApp

https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=mod_ejsapp

http://www.um.es/fem/EjsWiki/Main/UsingEJSWithMoodle

https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=217163

Please note they are based on the use of EJS. Therefore, if you want to use them for embedding your virtual lab into Moodle, you will need to create the virtual lab in EJS.

I hope that gives you a good start point. If you need more help, do not hesitate to ask smile

Hello Luis,

Thank you very much for the details. I discovered I need to upgrade my Moodle first. I will start from the basics and get back to you when necessary.

Re: Virtual Labs. What do you think?

My pleasure.

Yes, Moodle 2.x is a hard requirement for our plugins to work since we starting developing these add-ons just a few weeks before Moodle 2.0 was released.

Anyway, upgrading your Moodle 1.x to 2.x is always a good idea considering the numerous and cool new features.

If you are thinking about a virtual laboratory on how to configure a router, maybe I could be of some more help. I know some people here who created a remote laboratory about that specific topic. Also, using EJS, of course.
