Could someone tell me how to roll a class forward or point to the documentation?
I need to roll a class forward that has students enrolled in it, but I want to roll it forward without the students so I can begin the class again with new students.
I'd be very grateful if someone could help me.

Hi Carol,
This varies from version to version, but for 1.8.2, go to Administration->Courses->Add/edit courses and turn on editing. That should give you a list of courses with some icons after each one. Hover over each to see what they do, and the small white cube is the one to backup a course. The next window gives you the option to include or exclude user stuff, so make your choices to suit yourself. Then you can just restore the course to its new location.
If you are working off earlier versions, just post details and I'm sure someone out there will still be running a similar version and will be able to advise.
