Hi - I have a dedicated moodle server that reaches 11 to 13 load averages when a class of 30 students login and start accessing resources on moodle. The CPU utilization is low between 5-10%. I do have this server setup to use LDAP authentication to eDirectory. I also have this server setup with an NCP connection to a shared NSS Volume on our SAN for storing data.
HP D530C Hardware
OS: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
Hard Drive: 40 Gigabyte IDE
Network Connection: 1000/Full
Is there anything I can do to improve the response time and performance of Moodle? Are there tweaks I can do within MYSQL? Are there specific issues with this version of Moodle? Any ideas on how to improve our performance would be most helpful.
