Backups (through admin or scheduled) hang on a couple of courses in our school. These are larger courses (80MB+). It seems to hang on the 'zipping files' line.
The space is provided by a hosting service with a linux environment:
Kernel Version: 2.6.17-1.2142_FC4smp
Apache Version: 1.3.37 (Unix)
PHP Version: 4.4.2
I have played with some php.ini settings (like max_execution, upload size) to no avail
I have removed all user data and course data except for one file from the backup, still hangs.
I created a separate moodle on my windows computer at home using xampp, and have tried backing up and it worked! I reduced all the php settings (upload size, execution time) and it still worked.
""I am having a similar problem. I have set the max upload size in the php.ini file ""to 200MB but the max upload size in the course setup only allows me to go to ""97.7 MB. What am I missing? My instructors are wanting to post video clips that ""are larger than 100 MB for the students to access.
""I am running Moodle 1.7 on IIS6.
""Nevermind, I forgot to set it in the Security -> Site Policies -> Max Upload Limit. All is well now.
The setting to do this is in the Administration section of Moodle. I'll still entertain suggestions on how to fix the php zip functionality, but for now we're content.
