I am trying to figure out why I am missing the edit area when I try to update the details of an assignment on some computers... I have attached a .jpg the post showing what I see.
Looks verry similar to bug 1327 to me.
I rewrote my config.php from scratch (wich is no warranty of course), but no result.
At home I use a hardware/router-firewall -> problem (only in lesson - see bugrapport)
At school I use alse a hardware/router firewall (different brand) and Isaserver -> also problem (only in lesson bugrapport)
I don't understand what the settings in Zone-Alarm are for. What do they stop filtering?
It happened to me once in an installation on a local machine (see bug 1085, wich is verry badly repported since it covers two different issues. At that time they seemed related to eachother ) No firewall there of course.
Your problem is also my problem some times. I don´t know why, but when it happened I just refresh my browser and the edition area finally is OK.
I have just discovered that refreshing the browser (F5) brings up the HTML edit window in some cases, so at leas I have a solution now. Still not sure why it is happening though....
If I start a new item, I do not seem to be able to bring up the edit window on my main computer, though I can get to it via an older machine...
Thanks. I tried that, but IE gives me an error 57 asking me to debug.
I will try another browser and see what happens. Any suggestions for a simple internet browser with no frills?
It's W3C standards compliant and has a lot of useful extrensibility.
But note that you can get problems with pasting text into the HTMlarea thingy.
My posting in this forum dishes out the dope - http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=7543
