I recently installed Moodle on a shared server along with our main school site. I'm trialling it right now (I just love it) and I am hoping to persuade my colleagues that this is the system for us. Anyway, I thought that folk here may be interested to know that I have, in effect, got it installed with safe mode on. The web hosting company I use, FutureQuest, has developed what they call "secure mode". As I understand it, safe mode is off and secure mode is on. So far, everything I have tried is working fine (I am able to upload files etc.).
