Just turn the filters on (Site administration -> Modules -> Filters -> open "eye" for TeX and Algebra). Don't change any of the settings.

To test, open an editor somewhere (for example, create a new Label in one of your topic blocks) and enter a LaTeX and/or Algebra expression surrounded by the appropriate delimiters. For example:

LaTeX: $$$y=x^2$$$
Algebra: @@@y=x^2@@@

This should display as

LaTeX: $$y=x^2$$
Algebra: @@y=x^2@@
