I tried to install and use the ekchoice, to understand better what it does, but after I copy the ekchoice folder to the mod folder, and went to admin page, and see the nice sql messages, all with success, the name of the module appears modulename in the module list.

Probably I dont get the right vision of the current groups module, as in my experience, grouping in most of the times means working together to reach any particular target, and most of the times the target is an document or file or code ...

I agree with you that the question is tricky, so what about the group module allow the user to "affiliate" it self in a group, creating the concept of workgroup, and when we setup one activity to be "groupal" instead of individual, the grade should be associated to each member of the group in that moment.
can it be a new feature, or it will generate too many changes that will change the direction of the development ? dont know enough about moodle to evaluate this ...
