I'm about to upgrade to the new version. I had installed the library module and when I upgrade the code I want to stop using the library. Looking at the database I see I have some tables whose names begin with the word 'library':
I know I should delete the library subdirectory. Should I delete these tables also, then put in the new code?

Silly me ... I should have said in my initial email that I did this and the Remove Module option did not include the library on the list of modules to remove.
Your upgrade to latest and greatest Moodle should go smoothly without removing Library module. Wouldn't hurt anything to manually remove the table from the database though. Are you installing 1.2.1, or going to try latest 1.3? The latest seems pretty stable and has a lot of great new features. I really like it.
