Please, not replace but deliver the blog as another modul: let the teachers choose from 25 moduls and more to tune their educational setting.
I prefer the way Postnuke and Xoops2 handle their community moduls:
- They offer a small core set as startset
- They do a serious clearinghouse for all these other moduls people come up with
- They just do a clean check if a plug-in modul fits in a new release, without any ordial: let the adult user decide which combination will be used in his local situation.
- moduls and tuning patches as dialogue, exercise, modified choice, shelfs, bookmarks, subsections, gradebook, jump to this day, would live a better life in these communities
I think it would be wise to build a strong community around version 1.3 and maybe even 1.4, learning fromPostnue and Xoops2
...and take more time to redesign version 2: A more relealistic release date for version 2 would also help. The commercila guys will say that Moodle cannot handle the grow when the release of version 2 will shift more and more into 2005.
(Unless you can take away these sorrows..)
